Question 1

What do front end 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 884 recorded sales of the 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS with front end damage, the median was $4,850, from $3,300 to $7,700. That is 3% below the $5,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $14,100 a good price for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

2105 comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,000, spanning $3,350 to $8,000. At $14,100 this one went 182% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $31,000. It sold for $14,100 — 55% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

What does a permit no brand - unfit mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS was sold on a permit no brand - unfit. The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 6

Is 158,787 miles high for a 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS listings at auction averaged 101,101 miles across 2105 sales, so at 158,787 miles this one sits 57% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
