Question 1

What do rear end 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 264 recorded sales of the 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS with rear end damage, the median was $6,200, from $3,650 to $10,700. That is 2% above the $6,100 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,900 a good price for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

2335 comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $6,100, spanning $3,600 to $10,600. At $8,900 this one went 46% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $33,090. It sold for $8,900 — 73% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a permit salvage mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS was sold on a permit salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

Is 87,123 miles high for a 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS listings at auction averaged 92,389 miles across 2335 sales, so at 87,123 miles this one sits 6% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
