Was $5,225 a good price for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

2335 comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $6,100, spanning $3,600 to $10,600. At $5,225 this one went 14% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

This MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS sold without keys — does that matter?

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS sell for?

The insurer put this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $19,956. It sold for $5,225 — 74% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

What does a other (new york) mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

This 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS was sold on a other (new york). The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Is 81,273 miles high for a 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS listings at auction averaged 92,389 miles across 2335 sales, so at 81,273 miles this one sits 12% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

This MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS has front & rear and damage — how does that affect it?

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
