Question 1

What do side 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 176 recorded sales of the 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS with side damage, the median was $5,200, from $3,500 to $8,400. That is 4% above the $5,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,500 a good price for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

2103 comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,000, spanning $3,350 to $8,100. At $7,500 this one went 50% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $17,934. It sold for $7,500 — 58% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 70,768 miles high for a 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS listings at auction averaged 100,616 miles across 2103 sales, so at 70,768 miles this one sits 30% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
