Question 1

Was $5,500 a good price for this 2020 MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE?

Accepted Answer

495 comparable 2020 MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE listings sold at auction for a median of $6,874, spanning $4,150 to $10,450. At $5,500 this one went 20% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE?

Accepted Answer

This 2020 MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

What does "NOT RUN" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

NOT RUN is the auction's own condition note for this 2020 MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE has repossession and unknown damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 81,829 miles high for a 2020 MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 MERCEDES-BENZ A-KLASSE listings at auction averaged 64,734 miles across 495 sales, so at 81,829 miles this one sits 26% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
