Question 1

Was $6,200 a good price for this 2017 MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

113 comparable 2017 MAZDA MX-5 listings sold at auction for a median of $4,625, spanning $3,300 to $7,300. At $6,200 this one went 34% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a clear mean for this MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 MAZDA MX-5 was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 3

How far is this MAZDA MX-5 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in IN - FORT WAYNE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 600 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $500-$725, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

This MAZDA MX-5 has undercarriage and right rear damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 MAZDA MX-5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 85,148 miles high for a 2017 MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 MAZDA MX-5 listings at auction averaged 60,460 miles across 113 sales, so at 85,148 miles this one sits 41% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
