Question 1

Was $6,100 a good price for this 2025 MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

60 comparable 2025 MAZDA MX-5 listings sold at auction for a median of $8,850, spanning $4,600 to $15,400. At $6,100 this one went 31% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This MAZDA MX-5 sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MAZDA MX-5 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2025 MAZDA MX-5's pre-damage retail value at $33,186. It sold for $6,100 — 82% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this MAZDA MX-5 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in GA - AUSTELL. The nearest major vehicle export port is Savannah, roughly 250 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $300-$450, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

This 2025 MAZDA MX-5 was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 4,685 miles high for a 2025 MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2025 MAZDA MX-5 listings at auction averaged 6,705 miles across 60 sales, so at 4,685 miles this one sits 30% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
