Question 1

What do front end 2018 MAZDA MX-5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 42 recorded sales of the 2018 MAZDA MX-5 with front end damage, the median was $4,150, from $3,050 to $5,600. That is 8% below the $4,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,450 a good price for this 2018 MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

83 comparable 2018 MAZDA MX-5 listings sold at auction for a median of $4,500, spanning $3,100 to $6,800. At $3,450 this one went 23% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 MAZDA MX-5 was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 MAZDA MX-5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This MAZDA MX-5 has front end and rear damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 49,989 miles high for a 2018 MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 MAZDA MX-5 listings at auction averaged 59,915 miles across 83 sales, so at 49,989 miles this one sits 17% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
