Question 1

What do front end 2016 MAZDA MX-5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 60 recorded sales of the 2016 MAZDA MX-5 with front end damage, the median was $3,800, from $3,100 to $5,800. That is 7% below the $4,100 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

How far is this MAZDA MX-5 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in CA - GARDENA. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 3

What does "NOT RUN" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

NOT RUN is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 MAZDA MX-5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

Is 50,331 miles high for a 2016 MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 MAZDA MX-5 listings at auction averaged 64,670 miles across 176 sales, so at 50,331 miles this one sits 22% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Did this 2016 MAZDA MX-5 come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with front end damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.

Question 6

Who sold this 2016 MAZDA MX-5?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was STATE FARM INSURANCE. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
