Question 1

Was $5,350 a good price for this 2018 MAZDA CX-9?

Accepted Answer

656 comparable 2018 MAZDA CX-9 listings sold at auction for a median of $4,750, spanning $3,350 to $7,300. At $5,350 this one went 13% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This MAZDA CX-9 sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this MAZDA CX-9?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 MAZDA CX-9 was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

This MAZDA CX-9 has flood and all over damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

How far is this MAZDA CX-9 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in MA - SHIRLEY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 220 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $275-$400, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 137,894 miles high for a 2018 MAZDA CX-9?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 MAZDA CX-9 listings at auction averaged 107,373 miles across 656 sales, so at 137,894 miles this one sits 28% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
