Question 1

What do normal wear & tear 2020 MAZDA CX-5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 10 recorded sales of the 2020 MAZDA CX-5 with normal wear & tear damage, the median was $7,175, from $6,200 to $11,000. That is 30% above the $5,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $9,600 a good price for this 2020 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

2194 comparable 2020 MAZDA CX-5 listings sold at auction for a median of $5,500, spanning $3,600 to $8,200. At $9,600 this one went 75% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This MAZDA CX-5 sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How far is this MAZDA CX-5 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in TX - SAN ANTONIO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2020 MAZDA CX-5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 8,832 miles high for a 2020 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 MAZDA CX-5 listings at auction averaged 71,206 miles across 2194 sales, so at 8,832 miles this one sits 88% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
