Question 1

What do mechanical 2017 MAZDA CX-5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 11 recorded sales of the 2017 MAZDA CX-5 with mechanical damage, the median was $4,725, from $4,050 to $5,100. That is 3% above the $4,600 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,250 a good price for this 2017 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

1791 comparable 2017 MAZDA CX-5 listings sold at auction for a median of $4,600, spanning $3,450 to $6,500. At $3,250 this one went 29% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MAZDA CX-5 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 MAZDA CX-5's pre-damage retail value at $6,175. It sold for $3,250 — 47% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 MAZDA CX-5 was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

This MAZDA CX-5 has mechanical and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 179,736 miles high for a 2017 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 MAZDA CX-5 listings at auction averaged 101,828 miles across 1791 sales, so at 179,736 miles this one sits 77% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
