Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2016 MAZDA CX-5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 55 recorded sales of the 2016 MAZDA CX-5 with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $4,450, from $3,350 to $5,900. That is 25% above the $3,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,500 a good price for this 2016 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

2531 comparable 2016 MAZDA CX-5 listings sold at auction for a median of $3,550, spanning $3,050 to $4,850. At $3,500 this one went 1% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This MAZDA CX-5 sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 MAZDA CX-5 was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

How much below its undamaged value did this MAZDA CX-5 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 MAZDA CX-5's pre-damage retail value at $11,698. It sold for $3,500 — 70% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 6

Is 97,863 miles high for a 2016 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 MAZDA CX-5 listings at auction averaged 113,029 miles across 2531 sales, so at 97,863 miles this one sits 13% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
