Question 1

What do front end 2021 MAZDA CX-5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 1585 recorded sales of the 2021 MAZDA CX-5 with front end damage, the median was $5,600, from $3,550 to $8,150. That is 7% below the $6,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,500 a good price for this 2021 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

3074 comparable 2021 MAZDA CX-5 listings sold at auction for a median of $6,000, spanning $3,700 to $9,100. At $5,500 this one went 8% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MAZDA CX-5 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2021 MAZDA CX-5's pre-damage retail value at $20,126. It sold for $5,500 — 73% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

This MAZDA CX-5 has front end and side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2021 MAZDA CX-5. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 71,661 miles high for a 2021 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2021 MAZDA CX-5 listings at auction averaged 61,631 miles across 3074 sales, so at 71,661 miles this one sits 16% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
