Question 1

What do side 2018 MAZDA CX-5 models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 253 recorded sales of the 2018 MAZDA CX-5 with side damage, the median was $5,300, from $3,650 to $6,900. That is 13% above the $4,700 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,200 a good price for this 2018 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

2675 comparable 2018 MAZDA CX-5 listings sold at auction for a median of $4,700, spanning $3,425 to $6,850. At $6,200 this one went 32% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MAZDA CX-5 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 MAZDA CX-5's pre-damage retail value at $15,491. It sold for $6,200 — 60% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 MAZDA CX-5. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This MAZDA CX-5 has side and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 85,977 miles high for a 2018 MAZDA CX-5?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 MAZDA CX-5 listings at auction averaged 93,669 miles across 2675 sales, so at 85,977 miles this one sits 8% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
