Question 1

Was $6,400 a good price for this 2016 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

1005 comparable 2016 LEXUS IS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,100, spanning $3,400 to $8,150. At $6,400 this one went 25% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS IS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 LEXUS IS's pre-damage retail value at $21,950. It sold for $6,400 — 71% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

What does a non-repairable mean for this LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 LEXUS IS was sold on a non-repairable. That is the most restrictive category: in most US states the vehicle cannot be retitled for road use and is intended for parts or export only. Import rules vary by country, so check locally before bidding.

Question 4

Is 57,078 miles high for a 2016 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 LEXUS IS listings at auction averaged 106,149 miles across 1005 sales, so at 57,078 miles this one sits 46% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 LEXUS IS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Where was this LEXUS IS located?

Accepted Answer

The lot was held at COPART in ON - BOWMANVILLE. Location sets the inland transport cost to a port or a repair shop, and state title rules differ, so two otherwise identical cars can be worth noticeably different amounts.
