Question 1

What do rear end 2020 LEXUS IS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 37 recorded sales of the 2020 LEXUS IS with rear end damage, the median was $8,500, from $4,900 to $12,400. That is 4% above the $8,200 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,000 a good price for this 2020 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

265 comparable 2020 LEXUS IS listings sold at auction for a median of $8,200, spanning $4,450 to $12,500. At $4,000 this one went 51% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This LEXUS IS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS IS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2020 LEXUS IS's pre-damage retail value at $22,802. It sold for $4,000 — 82% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 5

Is 73,240 miles high for a 2020 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 LEXUS IS listings at auction averaged 65,521 miles across 265 sales, so at 73,240 miles this one sits 12% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This LEXUS IS has rear end and front end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
