Question 1

What do front end 2017 LEXUS IS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 302 recorded sales of the 2017 LEXUS IS with front end damage, the median was $5,300, from $3,525 to $8,500. That is 9% below the $5,850 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,850 a good price for this 2017 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

694 comparable 2017 LEXUS IS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,850, spanning $3,650 to $9,700. At $5,850 this one went exactly at that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 LEXUS IS was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

How far is this LEXUS IS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in MD - BALTIMORE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 40 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 LEXUS IS. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 122,127 miles high for a 2017 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 LEXUS IS listings at auction averaged 95,633 miles across 694 sales, so at 122,127 miles this one sits 28% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
