Question 1

What do rear end 2017 LEXUS IS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 72 recorded sales of the 2017 LEXUS IS with rear end damage, the median was $6,200, from $4,050 to $9,100. That is 5% above the $5,900 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,200 a good price for this 2017 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

692 comparable 2017 LEXUS IS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,900, spanning $3,650 to $9,700. At $5,200 this one went 12% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS IS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 LEXUS IS's pre-damage retail value at $18,653. It sold for $5,200 — 72% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

This LEXUS IS has rear end and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

How far is this LEXUS IS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in NC - CONCORD. The nearest major vehicle export port is Charleston, roughly 280 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 99,930 miles high for a 2017 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 LEXUS IS listings at auction averaged 95,480 miles across 692 sales, so at 99,930 miles this one sits 5% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
