Question 1

What do front end 2017 LEXUS IS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 309 recorded sales of the 2017 LEXUS IS with front end damage, the median was $5,300, from $3,525 to $8,400. That is 10% below the $5,900 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,700 a good price for this 2017 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

718 comparable 2017 LEXUS IS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,900, spanning $3,650 to $9,600. At $3,700 this one went 37% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This LEXUS IS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does a salvage mean for this LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 LEXUS IS was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

What does "NOT RUN" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

NOT RUN is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 LEXUS IS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 76,938 miles high for a 2017 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 LEXUS IS listings at auction averaged 95,776 miles across 718 sales, so at 76,938 miles this one sits 20% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
