Question 1

What do front end 2016 LEXUS IS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 477 recorded sales of the 2016 LEXUS IS with front end damage, the median was $4,650, from $3,250 to $7,100. That is 9% below the $5,100 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

This LEXUS IS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How far is this LEXUS IS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - SAN DIEGO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "ENHANCED" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENHANCED is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 LEXUS IS. It marks a lot the auction has given extra listing prominence, not a statement about condition. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 78,831 miles high for a 2016 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 LEXUS IS listings at auction averaged 106,259 miles across 1043 sales, so at 78,831 miles this one sits 26% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN JTHBA1D29G5006706?

Accepted Answer

JTHBA1D29G5006706 identifies this specific 2016 LEXUS IS in silver with a 2.0l 4 engine, rear wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
