Question 1

What do rear end 2016 LEXUS IS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 108 recorded sales of the 2016 LEXUS IS with rear end damage, the median was $5,400, from $3,500 to $8,200. That is 6% above the $5,100 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,750 a good price for this 2016 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

1004 comparable 2016 LEXUS IS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,100, spanning $3,400 to $8,150. At $4,750 this one went 7% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS IS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 LEXUS IS's pre-damage retail value at $12,260. It sold for $4,750 — 61% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this LEXUS IS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - AMERICAN CANYON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a clean title mean for this LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 LEXUS IS was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 123,934 miles high for a 2016 LEXUS IS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 LEXUS IS listings at auction averaged 106,180 miles across 1004 sales, so at 123,934 miles this one sits 17% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
