Question 1

What do rear end 2018 LEXUS ES models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 91 recorded sales of the 2018 LEXUS ES with rear end damage, the median was $9,650, from $5,100 to $12,800. That is 10% above the $8,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,650 a good price for this 2018 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

820 comparable 2018 LEXUS ES listings sold at auction for a median of $8,800, spanning $4,850 to $12,300. At $3,650 this one went 59% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This LEXUS ES sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 LEXUS ES was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS ES sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 LEXUS ES's pre-damage retail value at $16,331. It sold for $3,650 — 78% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 6

Is 116,026 miles high for a 2018 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 LEXUS ES listings at auction averaged 84,547 miles across 820 sales, so at 116,026 miles this one sits 37% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
