Question 1

What do hail 2017 LEXUS ES models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 17 recorded sales of the 2017 LEXUS ES with hail damage, the median was $8,625, from $5,700 to $13,200. That is 23% above the $7,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,800 a good price for this 2017 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

1018 comparable 2017 LEXUS ES listings sold at auction for a median of $7,000, spanning $4,050 to $10,300. At $7,800 this one went 11% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS ES sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 LEXUS ES's pre-damage retail value at $14,975. It sold for $7,800 — 48% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

This LEXUS ES has hail and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

Is 128,288 miles high for a 2017 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 LEXUS ES listings at auction averaged 98,389 miles across 1018 sales, so at 128,288 miles this one sits 30% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does a salvage title mean for this LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 LEXUS ES was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.
