Question 1

Was $12,600 a good price for this 2017 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

1047 comparable 2017 LEXUS ES listings sold at auction for a median of $7,000, spanning $4,050 to $10,200. At $12,600 this one went 80% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This LEXUS ES sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS ES sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 LEXUS ES's pre-damage retail value at $24,129. It sold for $12,600 — 48% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 LEXUS ES was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

How far is this LEXUS ES from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in KS - KANSAS CITY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 34,677 miles high for a 2017 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 LEXUS ES listings at auction averaged 99,466 miles across 1047 sales, so at 34,677 miles this one sits 65% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
