Question 1

What do side 2017 LEXUS ES models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 100 recorded sales of the 2017 LEXUS ES with side damage, the median was $7,150, from $4,600 to $10,100. That is 2% above the $7,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,000 a good price for this 2017 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

1009 comparable 2017 LEXUS ES listings sold at auction for a median of $7,000, spanning $4,050 to $10,300. At $8,000 this one went 14% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this LEXUS ES sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 LEXUS ES's pre-damage retail value at $20,567. It sold for $8,000 — 61% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 LEXUS ES. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This LEXUS ES has side and top/roof damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 102,546 miles high for a 2017 LEXUS ES?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 LEXUS ES listings at auction averaged 98,336 miles across 1009 sales, so at 102,546 miles this one sits 4% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
