Question 1

What do mechanical 2017 KIA SPORTAGE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 60 recorded sales of the 2017 KIA SPORTAGE with mechanical damage, the median was $3,550, from $3,100 to $4,700. That is level with the $3,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,300 a good price for this 2017 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

1366 comparable 2017 KIA SPORTAGE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,550, spanning $3,050 to $4,650. At $5,300 this one went 49% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a dealer only clean title (p) mean for this KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 KIA SPORTAGE was sold on a dealer only clean title (p). A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

How far is this KIA SPORTAGE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in NC - GASTONIA. The nearest major vehicle export port is Charleston, roughly 280 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 124,306 miles high for a 2017 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 KIA SPORTAGE listings at auction averaged 98,188 miles across 1366 sales, so at 124,306 miles this one sits 27% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 KIA SPORTAGE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
