Question 1

What do hail 2020 KIA SPORTAGE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 49 recorded sales of the 2020 KIA SPORTAGE with hail damage, the median was $4,975, from $3,450 to $7,300. That is 18% above the $4,200 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,700 a good price for this 2020 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

2629 comparable 2020 KIA SPORTAGE listings sold at auction for a median of $4,200, spanning $3,250 to $6,000. At $3,700 this one went 12% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This KIA SPORTAGE sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

This 2020 KIA SPORTAGE was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA SPORTAGE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2020 KIA SPORTAGE's pre-damage retail value at $11,345. It sold for $3,700 — 67% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 6

Is 126,787 miles high for a 2020 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 KIA SPORTAGE listings at auction averaged 75,327 miles across 2629 sales, so at 126,787 miles this one sits 68% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
