Question 1

Was $3,900 a good price for this 2018 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

1108 comparable 2018 KIA SPORTAGE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,650, spanning $3,100 to $4,800. At $3,900 this one went 7% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This KIA SPORTAGE sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 KIA SPORTAGE was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 KIA SPORTAGE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this KIA SPORTAGE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in OR - PORTLAND. The nearest major vehicle export port is Tacoma, roughly 180 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $225-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 88,655 miles high for a 2018 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 KIA SPORTAGE listings at auction averaged 93,595 miles across 1108 sales, so at 88,655 miles this one sits 5% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
