Question 1

What do front end 2018 KIA SPORTAGE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 389 recorded sales of the 2018 KIA SPORTAGE with front end damage, the median was $3,550, from $3,050 to $4,500. That is 3% below the $3,650 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

What does a mv-907a-ny mean for this KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 KIA SPORTAGE was sold on a mv-907a-ny. The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 3

How far is this KIA SPORTAGE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NY - SCHENECTADY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 160 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 KIA SPORTAGE. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 55,669 miles high for a 2018 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 KIA SPORTAGE listings at auction averaged 93,474 miles across 1106 sales, so at 55,669 miles this one sits 40% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This KIA SPORTAGE has front end and left side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
