Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2017 KIA SPORTAGE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 93 recorded sales of the 2017 KIA SPORTAGE with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $3,900, from $3,150 to $4,800. That is 10% above the $3,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,300 a good price for this 2017 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

1394 comparable 2017 KIA SPORTAGE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,550, spanning $3,050 to $4,625. At $4,300 this one went 21% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA SPORTAGE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 KIA SPORTAGE's pre-damage retail value at $11,200. It sold for $4,300 — 62% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 KIA SPORTAGE was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

Is 194,328 miles high for a 2017 KIA SPORTAGE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 KIA SPORTAGE listings at auction averaged 98,211 miles across 1394 sales, so at 194,328 miles this one sits 98% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 KIA SPORTAGE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
