Question 1

Was $6,700 a good price for this 2023 KIA SORENTO?

Accepted Answer

1860 comparable 2023 KIA SORENTO listings sold at auction for a median of $9,000, spanning $5,000 to $14,250. At $6,700 this one went 26% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA SORENTO sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2023 KIA SORENTO's pre-damage retail value at $17,875. It sold for $6,700 — 63% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

What does a salvage title mean for this KIA SORENTO?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 KIA SORENTO was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

How far is this KIA SORENTO from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - CAHOKIA HEIGHTS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 138,690 miles high for a 2023 KIA SORENTO?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 KIA SORENTO listings at auction averaged 42,419 miles across 1860 sales, so at 138,690 miles this one sits 227% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Who sold this 2023 KIA SORENTO?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was FARMERS INSURANCE COMPANY OF FLEMINGTON. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
