Question 1

What do water/flood 2023 KIA SORENTO models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 19 recorded sales of the 2023 KIA SORENTO with water/flood damage, the median was $9,900, from $6,400 to $12,800. That is 10% above the $9,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $12,800 a good price for this 2023 KIA SORENTO?

Accepted Answer

1906 comparable 2023 KIA SORENTO listings sold at auction for a median of $9,000, spanning $5,000 to $14,200. At $12,800 this one went 42% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This KIA SORENTO sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2023 KIA SORENTO. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this KIA SORENTO from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CT - NEW BRITAIN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 120 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA SORENTO sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2023 KIA SORENTO's pre-damage retail value at $34,861. It sold for $12,800 — 63% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.
