Question 1

What do hail 2018 KIA SORENTO models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 32 recorded sales of the 2018 KIA SORENTO with hail damage, the median was $4,000, from $3,150 to $5,000. That is 10% above the $3,650 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,000 a good price for this 2018 KIA SORENTO?

Accepted Answer

747 comparable 2018 KIA SORENTO listings sold at auction for a median of $3,650, spanning $3,075 to $5,200. At $5,000 this one went 37% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA SORENTO sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 KIA SORENTO's pre-damage retail value at $16,555. It sold for $5,000 — 70% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this KIA SORENTO?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 KIA SORENTO was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

How far is this KIA SORENTO from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in WI - MCFARLAND. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 850 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $550-$800, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 67,897 miles high for a 2018 KIA SORENTO?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 KIA SORENTO listings at auction averaged 96,738 miles across 747 sales, so at 67,897 miles this one sits 30% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
