Question 1

What do mechanical 2020 KIA OPTIMA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 15 recorded sales of the 2020 KIA OPTIMA with mechanical damage, the median was $4,300, from $3,537 to $5,500. That is 19% above the $3,600 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,000 a good price for this 2020 KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

691 comparable 2020 KIA OPTIMA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,600, spanning $3,050 to $4,950. At $8,000 this one went 122% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA OPTIMA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2020 KIA OPTIMA's pre-damage retail value at $14,200. It sold for $8,000 — 44% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2020 KIA OPTIMA. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this KIA OPTIMA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in TX - SAN ANTONIO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 77,508 miles high for a 2020 KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 KIA OPTIMA listings at auction averaged 77,097 miles across 691 sales, so at 77,508 miles this one sits 1% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
