Question 1

What do vandalism 2017 KIA OPTIMA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 10 recorded sales of the 2017 KIA OPTIMA with vandalism damage, the median was $3,375, from $3,100 to $3,650. That is 2% below the $3,450 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,050 a good price for this 2017 KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

208 comparable 2017 KIA OPTIMA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,450, spanning $3,050 to $4,500. At $4,050 this one went 17% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This KIA OPTIMA sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does a lien papers salvage mean for this KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 KIA OPTIMA was sold on a lien papers salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

How far is this KIA OPTIMA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in OR - PORTLAND. The nearest major vehicle export port is Tacoma, roughly 180 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $225-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA OPTIMA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 KIA OPTIMA's pre-damage retail value at $15,098. It sold for $4,050 — 73% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.
