Question 1

What do rear end 2016 KIA OPTIMA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 40 recorded sales of the 2016 KIA OPTIMA with rear end damage, the median was $3,375, from $3,000 to $4,100. That is 2% below the $3,450 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,350 a good price for this 2016 KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

256 comparable 2016 KIA OPTIMA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,450, spanning $3,050 to $4,300. At $3,350 this one went 3% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA OPTIMA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 KIA OPTIMA's pre-damage retail value at $10,899. It sold for $3,350 — 69% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 KIA OPTIMA. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 KIA OPTIMA was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 43,911 miles high for a 2016 KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 KIA OPTIMA listings at auction averaged 91,154 miles across 256 sales, so at 43,911 miles this one sits 52% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
