Question 1

What do rear end 2016 KIA OPTIMA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 40 recorded sales of the 2016 KIA OPTIMA with rear end damage, the median was $3,375, from $3,000 to $4,100. That is 2% below the $3,450 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,850 a good price for this 2016 KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

255 comparable 2016 KIA OPTIMA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,450, spanning $3,050 to $4,300. At $3,850 this one went 12% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA OPTIMA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 KIA OPTIMA's pre-damage retail value at $10,680. It sold for $3,850 — 64% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 KIA OPTIMA. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this KIA OPTIMA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in WI - APPLETON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 850 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $550-$800, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 74,502 miles high for a 2016 KIA OPTIMA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 KIA OPTIMA listings at auction averaged 91,174 miles across 255 sales, so at 74,502 miles this one sits 18% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
