Question 1

Was $8,550 a good price for this 2022 KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

609 comparable 2022 KIA NIRO listings sold at auction for a median of $6,200, spanning $3,800 to $8,750. At $8,550 this one went 38% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This KIA NIRO sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

This 2022 KIA NIRO was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

How far is this KIA NIRO from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in MI - BELLEVILLE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 550 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $475-$650, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2022 KIA NIRO. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 52,916 miles high for a 2022 KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2022 KIA NIRO listings at auction averaged 64,161 miles across 609 sales, so at 52,916 miles this one sits 18% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
