Question 1

What do hail 2017 KIA NIRO models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 13 recorded sales of the 2017 KIA NIRO with hail damage, the median was $4,800, from $3,600 to $5,500. That is 25% above the $3,850 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,800 a good price for this 2017 KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

402 comparable 2017 KIA NIRO listings sold at auction for a median of $3,850, spanning $3,100 to $5,200. At $4,800 this one went 25% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This KIA NIRO sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA NIRO sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 KIA NIRO's pre-damage retail value at $10,651. It sold for $4,800 — 55% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 KIA NIRO was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 76,622 miles high for a 2017 KIA NIRO?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 KIA NIRO listings at auction averaged 103,141 miles across 402 sales, so at 76,622 miles this one sits 26% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
