Question 1

What do hail 2018 KIA FORTE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 11 recorded sales of the 2018 KIA FORTE with hail damage, the median was $3,425, from $3,150 to $3,925. That is 1% above the $3,400 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,450 a good price for this 2018 KIA FORTE?

Accepted Answer

94 comparable 2018 KIA FORTE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,400, spanning $3,050 to $4,450. At $3,450 this one went 1% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA FORTE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 KIA FORTE's pre-damage retail value at $8,982. It sold for $3,450 — 62% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this KIA FORTE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in TX - AMARILLO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a clean title mean for this KIA FORTE?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 KIA FORTE was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 111,740 miles high for a 2018 KIA FORTE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 KIA FORTE listings at auction averaged 71,157 miles across 94 sales, so at 111,740 miles this one sits 57% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
