Question 1

What do hail 2022 KIA FORTE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 57 recorded sales of the 2022 KIA FORTE with hail damage, the median was $6,900, from $3,600 to $9,900. That is 62% above the $4,250 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,300 a good price for this 2022 KIA FORTE?

Accepted Answer

2336 comparable 2022 KIA FORTE listings sold at auction for a median of $4,250, spanning $3,250 to $6,350. At $8,300 this one went 95% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA FORTE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2022 KIA FORTE's pre-damage retail value at $16,038. It sold for $8,300 — 48% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2022 KIA FORTE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this KIA FORTE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in TX - HASLET. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 66,779 miles high for a 2022 KIA FORTE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2022 KIA FORTE listings at auction averaged 55,770 miles across 2336 sales, so at 66,779 miles this one sits 20% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
