Question 1

Was $3,850 a good price for this 2016 KIA FORTE?

Accepted Answer

26 comparable 2016 KIA FORTE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,250, spanning $3,000 to $3,850. At $3,850 this one went 18% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this KIA FORTE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 KIA FORTE's pre-damage retail value at $11,400. It sold for $3,850 — 66% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

How far is this KIA FORTE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CO - BRIGHTON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 1,030 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $675-$975, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 KIA FORTE. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

This KIA FORTE has hail and rear end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 47,283 miles high for a 2016 KIA FORTE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 KIA FORTE listings at auction averaged 73,268 miles across 26 sales, so at 47,283 miles this one sits 35% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
