Question 1

What do front end 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 140 recorded sales of the 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA with front end damage, the median was $3,338, from $3,050 to $4,100. That is 3% below the $3,450 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,250 a good price for this 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA?

Accepted Answer

528 comparable 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,450, spanning $3,050 to $4,750. At $3,250 this one went 6% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this HYUNDAI SONATA?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this HYUNDAI SONATA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in TX - LONGVIEW. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 68,033 miles high for a 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA listings at auction averaged 83,109 miles across 528 sales, so at 68,033 miles this one sits 18% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
