Question 1

What do rear end 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 66 recorded sales of the 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA with rear end damage, the median was $3,300, from $3,050 to $4,500. That is 4% below the $3,450 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,200 a good price for this 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA?

Accepted Answer

528 comparable 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,450, spanning $3,050 to $4,750. At $3,200 this one went 7% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this HYUNDAI SONATA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA's pre-damage retail value at $11,249. It sold for $3,200 — 72% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this HYUNDAI SONATA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in OR - PORTLAND. The nearest major vehicle export port is Tacoma, roughly 180 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $225-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 78,234 miles high for a 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA listings at auction averaged 83,109 miles across 528 sales, so at 78,234 miles this one sits 6% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
