Question 1

What do vandalism 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 45 recorded sales of the 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA with vandalism damage, the median was $3,600, from $3,100 to $4,750. That is 3% above the $3,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,500 a good price for this 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA?

Accepted Answer

1123 comparable 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,500, spanning $3,050 to $4,875. At $4,500 this one went 29% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This HYUNDAI SONATA sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How much below its undamaged value did this HYUNDAI SONATA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA's pre-damage retail value at $9,954. It sold for $4,500 — 55% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 95,038 miles high for a 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA listings at auction averaged 79,904 miles across 1123 sales, so at 95,038 miles this one sits 19% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
