Question 1

What do hail 2018 HYUNDAI SANTA FE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 55 recorded sales of the 2018 HYUNDAI SANTA FE with hail damage, the median was $4,375, from $3,400 to $6,450. That is 14% above the $3,850 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,000 a good price for this 2018 HYUNDAI SANTA FE?

Accepted Answer

1892 comparable 2018 HYUNDAI SANTA FE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,850, spanning $3,100 to $5,400. At $5,000 this one went 30% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this HYUNDAI SANTA FE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 HYUNDAI SANTA FE's pre-damage retail value at $13,585. It sold for $5,000 — 63% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 89,425 miles high for a 2018 HYUNDAI SANTA FE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 HYUNDAI SANTA FE listings at auction averaged 97,446 miles across 1892 sales, so at 89,425 miles this one sits 8% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This HYUNDAI SANTA FE has hail and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
