Question 1

What do side 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 33 recorded sales of the 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE with side damage, the median was $3,850, from $3,100 to $4,450. That is 10% above the $3,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,450 a good price for this 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE?

Accepted Answer

470 comparable 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,500, spanning $3,050 to $4,475. At $3,450 this one went 1% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this HYUNDAI SANTA FE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE's pre-damage retail value at $13,590. It sold for $3,450 — 75% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this HYUNDAI SANTA FE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MD - FINKSBURG. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 40 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 91,387 miles high for a 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE listings at auction averaged 113,312 miles across 470 sales, so at 91,387 miles this one sits 19% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This HYUNDAI SANTA FE has side and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
