Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 58 recorded sales of the 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $3,550, from $3,050 to $4,500. That is 1% above the $3,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,650 a good price for this 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE?

Accepted Answer

470 comparable 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE listings sold at auction for a median of $3,500, spanning $3,050 to $4,475. At $3,650 this one went 4% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this HYUNDAI SANTA FE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE's pre-damage retail value at $9,125. It sold for $3,650 — 60% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this HYUNDAI SANTA FE?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

How far is this HYUNDAI SANTA FE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - VAN NUYS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 86,878 miles high for a 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE listings at auction averaged 113,312 miles across 470 sales, so at 86,878 miles this one sits 23% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
