Question 1

What do normal wear & tear 2023 HYUNDAI KONA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 66 recorded sales of the 2023 HYUNDAI KONA with normal wear & tear damage, the median was $17,850, from $9,200 to $17,850. That is 231% above the $5,400 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $17,850 a good price for this 2023 HYUNDAI KONA?

Accepted Answer

2014 comparable 2023 HYUNDAI KONA listings sold at auction for a median of $5,400, spanning $3,450 to $8,700. At $17,850 this one went 231% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This HYUNDAI KONA sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How far is this HYUNDAI KONA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in FL - LAKELAND. The nearest major vehicle export port is Jacksonville, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a clear mean for this HYUNDAI KONA?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 HYUNDAI KONA was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 32,409 miles high for a 2023 HYUNDAI KONA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 HYUNDAI KONA listings at auction averaged 39,979 miles across 2014 sales, so at 32,409 miles this one sits 19% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
